There is a photo I have found in two locations of the Melhuish tailors.

One describes them in Central Devon and another Okehampton.

I have often wondered about the details of this photo or where it came from. Any one have ideas on how to track down more information?

The map of Melhuish birthplaces on this site (https://melhuish-ons.uk/distribution.php) shows one likely person born in Okehampton in 1877 (which fits with the style of clothes in the photo). Obviously there must be more. Try the censuses. When you do find more people, please add them to the birthplace map as you will be helping this project to expand the story of the Melhuish family.

For anyone unfamiliar with Devon, Okehampton is in the centre of the county so "Central Devon" and Okehampton are more or less synonymous.
