If anyone wants it, I was browsing a Hong Kong History web site. They have a transcript from the parish magazine for St. John's Cathedral.
In that there is a baptism for an Elizabeth May Melhuish on 2 Feb 1898.
Unfortunately no parents or other information....

From an Ancestry tree
Elizabeth May Melhuish was born in 1898 in Hong Kong, China, her father, Frederick, was 41, and her mother, Hannah, was 38. She married Samuel Worton on 12 April 1916 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They had three children during their marriage. She died on 28 May 1979 in Brisbane, Queensland, at the age of 81.

Well done.
It's piqued my interest, so, knowing the accuracy of Ancestry trees, I've sent an email to St John's Cathedral asking if the registers still exist (I'm not going to hold my breath due to WWII). I've also asked if I can get a scan of it, if it exists.
The web site is guwlo and it contains a significant amount of material on the history of Hong Kong, both European and Chinese.
Regards, Keith
